It’s been a long week for us, both the hubs and I are sick this week and we are still recovering from this cold or whatever it is that hit our home. I cannot wait to be healthy again and have a good night’s sleep. Anyways, here’s what we ate this week:
Calamari saladcalamariorganic chicken soup(all ingredients are organic)greek saladlentil soup with pork bellysalad, pork chop, loaded potatoebeans, asparagus, pork chopdried fish, egg
We ate out a couple of times this week too(we set a budget for this every month,so it will not affect the challenge this march/no spend)
I’m joining the No-Spend Challenge at the Living Well Spending Less FB page. It’s great because a lot of families are joining too. I’m grateful that my hubs earns decent money and we are secure financially but with the times right now, one will never know! I really want to increase our emergency fund and savings, this challenge will help us in that area. We have expenses in the coming months, as a homemaker I’m in charge of our budget thus I want to be prepared. My husband is not on board in this challenge yet, and it’s OK. He asked that we still have a budget for eating out because he really enjoys that. The only thing I asked from him is that he will help me STICK TO THE DINING OUT budget. I’ve already given up Starbucks this year and I’m doing well. I had Starbucks last Valentine’s day from the hubs and thats it. I still drink coffee but I make it at home. I’m excited and looking forward to this challenge!
Another great week of yummy food for us! I wasn’t able to follow my meal plan/menu this week. I’ll probably prepare some this week like the calamari salad (I already have all of the ingredients). Hubby made Soufflé pancakes this morning, and it was good! No left overs (we’re little pigs when we like a certain dish!). He found the recipe from the Food network website and he’ll make it again in the near future (probably next weekend again). It’s been a great weekend for us, we watched Toby Mac’s Hit Deep Tour concert yesterday at the Key Arena and it was awesome! I will probably post about it later this week. Today we just stayed home and relaxed, hubby watched his favorite tv shows and I’ve been reading most of the day! I finally got a library card and rented books and downloaded ebooks. Anyways, here’s what we ate this week:

We are watching The Walking Dead and the NBA all star game this weekend while I’m writing this quick post. Just having a relaxing Sunday evening with the hubs and Riley (our puppy). We had a good meal this week, especially yesterday because we had a nice dinner at this fancy Seattle restaurant (Il Terrazzo Carmine) and all of the food was delicious! I wish I had a decent camera with me because all of the pictures I took were pathetic! Here’s the food we had this week (these are pictures of just some of our meals, sometimes when I’m too hungry I forgot to take pics!)

I hope everybody had a good Valentines today, spending time with your favorite people! We had a simple Valentines day at home. This will be our 5th Valentines as a married couple, and the last 2 Valentines we spent it at home. We will have dinner tomorrow in Seattle though, so it will be a late celebration. I didn’t ask for any gifts or flowers from my hubs today because I don’t want any of that (reading too many frugal books is rubbing off on me!). We got some Starbucks (BOGO!) and my favorite french fries this afternoon so that was my Valentine “treat” from him! I’d rather have coffee than flowers! For dinner we had chicken cordon blue(we got from our local meat shop) and I roasted brussels sprouts for our side dish. It was good!
blueberry, orange, mango smoothie I made this morning for my hubs!VDAY treatsYUMI had left over mac and cheese too!
One of my goals this year is to read more books. I gave my hubby a kindle last Christmas and we’ve been enjoying it so far and putting it to good use. I do read a lot of Christian homemakers blogs, frugal blogs, couponing blogs. It’s fun learning how others save money, share their homemaking skills, recipes, fashion, time management and home decorating( just about anything under the sun). The month of January these are the books I’ve read:
I totally enjoyed this book, lots of great information!lots of frugal ideas;free from kindle:free from kindle🙂🙂
Hello family and friends! I hope you had a great Saturday:) A quick post of what we ate for the last week of January. I’m really sticking to my meal plans and it’s such a big help to me. It does save us time and money. I already have my meal plan for next week( I got some of the ingredients after my Zumba class). It’s such a pain to go grocery shopping during weekends and with the Superbowl tomorrow (GO HAWKS!) I swear everybody is in the store. Anyways, food we had this week:
Midnight snack last thursday night while watching a tagalog movie:
hot chocolate and biscoffMiss you like crazy!(excuse the mess my husband is adding some sound system this week)my cuddle buddy, not interested to watch Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd!
Late night run to Target and Walgreens tonight! I really didn’t have plans to shop tonight but my Starbucks coupons expire today and my hubby really likes their frappuccinos.
Walgreens: Before sale and coupons:$18, I paid $9 (they are the big bottles)
I’m running low on my coffee creamer and Target has them for 2/$3. I drink coffee everyday so I always take advantage if they’re on sale.
Target: I paid $13 (after sales, coupons and gift card)
Hello family and friends, I hope you had a fun weekend. We watched a movie yesterday (Jack Ryan: shadow recruit) and had dinner at our local favorite Greek place. It was a quiet weekend for us. It’s been a hard week for me, got some sad news from a close friend in PI and my heart just broke for her. Praying for a good week for everybody. Anyways, I think I’m gonna start posting what we eat every week. My blog is like my food diary and I think it’s fun to see what we ate over the years. Here’s what we ate this week:

It’s been a while since I posted here, we’ve been busy around here. Riley (our mini schnauzer) had an ear infection and we had to bring him to the vet. He’s doing so much better now and I’m just so glad he’s back to his normal happy self. I also started my Women Bible study every Tuesday morning, we are studying Gideon (based from the Book of Judges) by Priscilla Shirer! Zach and I also have a Bible study every Monday evening at our friends house.
One of my goals this new year is to cook more dishes at home, and to try new recipes and dishes that me and my Hubs will like. I have a lot of cooking magazines so getting inspiration is not a problem! I’ve been meal planning since last year but this new year I will really try to stick to it because it makes my life easy (knowing what we’ll be eating for the week) and saves money and time. Here’s what I’ve been cooking lately:
