Happy New Year!

Happy New Year family and friends! We pray that you had a safe and fun NYE party with your loved ones. We had a casual NYE dinner with my In Laws, ordered Chinese food from our favorite Chinese restaurant, watched fireworks on TV, and as midnight approached we toasted and welcomed 2014! I bought some party favors to use like mini horns but we hardly used them because the doggies started to bark like crazy when we attempted to make some noise. I’m looking forward to 2014 and grateful for what the Lord blessed us with in 2013. 2013 was not my favorite year, and I’m just so ready to forget it. The best is yet to come! Cheers for a great 2014 friends!!!

Christmas Decorations 2013!

It’s Christmas time again and that means bringing out all the Christmas decorations and lights, you all. Growing up in the Philippines, my family usually has decorations around late October till January. Here in the U.S there’s still Thanksgiving to celebrate before we can go all out on the Christmas stuff (though some families will have their Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving). We hosted Thanksgiving this year so I had to wait till it was over before I could put out decors. The same fake Christmas tree (my husband wants a real tree next year) and ornaments and some hand me down Poinsettias  flowers from my MIL( I try to make use of what we already have in the house). The only new ornament we got this year is the one from Sea World (from our vacation last month) as well as a few Christmas decorations from Target. I plan to buy decorations after Christmas when they will be on sale and get a good deal for next years decorations.  I hope you had fun decorating your home as Christmas is just around the corner, always remember the reason why we are celebrating! Jesus Birth!

Day After Thanksgiving!

It’s our tradition here that every “day after thanksgiving/black friday” we go to Seattle with my In laws and spend our afternoon with them. It’s really fun watching all the holiday activities, decorations and tree lighting in downtown Seattle. It sets the holiday mood. My favorite part is always the Pike Place market, the energy of that place is something. We also stopped by at the malls like Nordstroms and Macys.  We got there in the afternoon so it wasn’t super crowded and wasn’t too crammed inside the mall ( some parts of the country are nuts! shoppers fighting over stuff). My sweet hubby bought me cashmere sweaters just because he wanted to do something nice:) Cashmere are nice but they are still expensive for me even with the discount. I really didn’t want to buy it because I can just get cheaper sweaters at target, but I think it’s important for me to let my husband do that sometimes because it makes him feel good. Anyways, I’m almost done with my Christmas decorations here at home.  I used our old decorations and will probably buy somethings at target (I got a gift card from my Sis and BIL, thanks Chad and Chak!) they do have cute stuff/decorations for the holidays.

Thanksgiving 2013

We hosted our first Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. It went as great as I had hoped. The food was delicious (my In laws took care of the turkey, and other side dishes) ,we prepared appetizers, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and Hub’s aunt took care of dessert. It was a team effort! We had too much food as usual and everybody took home left overs after. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, spending time with family and friends while enjoying yummy food. I cannot believe that Christmas is almost here (4 weeks!) I plan to put up our Christmas tree tomorrow and decorate our house. It really is my favorite time of the year, celebrating Jesus birth!

Happy Birthday Hubs!

My husband turned 34 years old  yesterday! With all the holiday dinners this last week, we decided to have a late celebration with his family next week. He wanted to have sushi for his actual bday meal and we have a new sushi place in our neighborhood that we wanted to try, so off we went! The place was great and the sushi too.  We love that the owner stopped at our table and really tried to explain to us where they get their fish and how he runs his place. We will be back for sure (it’s only 3 minutes drive from our house!). Anyways, Happiest birthday to my hubs, the most loving and patient person I know. I love You Ga! You’re my fave:)

Birthday weekend!

Saturday was my birthday and hubby wanted to know what I wanted to do. A weekend getaway with him would be nice especially with the holidays ahead of us (we are hosting Thanksgiving this year,so it will be a little chaotic around here).  I wanted to visit the Oregon coast but with the weather we have here in the Pacific NW, I don’t think we’ll like it this time of year. So we decided on San Diego because of the nice sunny fall they have there. We loved it there, I can’t believe the weather we had  last weekend close to 80’s.  So opposite from Seattle. Anyways, we did the tourist things like Seaworld, SD zoo, SD safari, Coronado Island, Mission Beach, Old Town. It was a great 4 days with my Hubs, exploring a new city and enjoying the warm weather and eating yummy food. My kind of Birthday Celebration. Thank you Lord for another year you gave me.

We celebrated Mothers Day with my Mom In Law’s side of the family. We had hotdogs and grilled chicken/fruit kabobs(that I forgot to take pictures). Every mothers day we go to my husbands grandmother’s house. I love her yard, so spacious and lots of pretty flowers like Lilacs tree. She said if we want we can get as much as we can,so of course I asked the hubs to “pick” enough to bring home with us. He didn’t disappoint! The house looks like a florist shop right now but I love it..hehe..smells so good right now because of the lilacs. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there, especially to my Mom and MIL Kathy, both whom I admired and look up to.

I’m Back!

Hello everyone! I’m still alive here! I haven’t posted since forever. I do have a reason why I didn’t post anything here since last year. December of last year my Dad passed away and I went back to the Philippines to be with my family. I miss my Dad, but I know that he’s with the Lord now and no more cancer for him!  Life will not be the same anymore but knowing that God is in control of everything helps me heal and enjoy my life since my Dad’s passing. I will try to post more often here and get back to blogging and posting recipes, foodie pics and things I’ve been doing lately. Miss you all family and friends!
