Last month, The Hits Deep Tour with Toby Mac and friends visited Seattle and I just had to watch it! Toby Mac is one of my favorite Christian singers and I love most of his songs (steal my show, speak life, lose my soul, city on our knees to name a few). Matt Maher (another fave of mine),Matthew West, Brandon Heath, and Mandisa were also there to perform. It was such a great event. A night full of worship and fun! It was such a blessing to hear my favorite Christian music live and see the artists perform. Thank you Lord for that wonderful experience:)

SUPERBOWL!
Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks for winning Superbowl 48! We are from the PNW so we support the Seahawks all the way. We’re not big football fans (I prefer the NBA, while hubby is not a big sports fan) but we still watch and enjoy football every now and then. This season though we watched all of the Seahawks games, I’m still not over their game 2 weeks ago against the niners(that game was intense!). So tonight as they won their first Superbowl, we can’t help but get so excited and happy for Seattle/WA state. One of my favorites is Russell Wilson our QB. He is a strong Christian and never fails to give Glory to God. He surely deserves the championship. We watched the game at our friends house. They had a huge TV(65 inches),my goodness it was so much fun. Yummy food, great company, Superbowl Championship! What a crazy weekend!
Food this week!
Hello family and friends, I hope you had a fun weekend. We watched a movie yesterday (Jack Ryan: shadow recruit) and had dinner at our local favorite Greek place. It was a quiet weekend for us. It’s been a hard week for me, got some sad news from a close friend in PI and my heart just broke for her. Praying for a good week for everybody. Anyways, I think I’m gonna start posting what we eat every week. My blog is like my food diary and I think it’s fun to see what we ate over the years. Here’s what we ate this week:
We had dinner out last night at Tantalus Greek Restaurant(Issaquah) after we watched the movie Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (Chris Pine you’re one good looking actor!)
I’m off to look at my freezer and refrigerator so I can start my meal plan for this week! See Yah later!
Sunday Dinner!
We had my In Laws yesterday evening for some wagyu steaks we got from Costco. It was a delicious meal we prepared! Zach was in charge of the steaks while I took care of the side dishes. I made mashed potato, green beans, and the ravioli which we got from Trader Joes. I only had a little of the steaks because I wasn’t feeling very good but at least everybody enjoyed it. It’s always a pleasure to have my In laws here at home, relaxing and having great conversations with them. I’m so blessed in the In Law department:) They’re the best!
Dinner with Friends!
We had our friends over for dinner last night. It was just nice to have them over and have fellowship before the busy Thanksgiving week (we are hosting btw,and it’s a little busy in our house already!). We prepared steaks and have the usual steak side dishes like mashed potato (we made our favorite smoked gouda mashed potatoes), mushrooms, salads, caramelized onions. I wasn’t able to take pics because I got busy and forgot! It was all delicious, especially the steaks! You can never go wrong with filet mignon. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving week with family and people you care about. I wish I had all my family with me this time of year (my mom and siblings, nephews). Even if I’m not going to share a Thanksgiving meal with them, I’m so grateful for them. Happy Thanksgiving week. Bring on the holiday cooking!:)
Birthday weekend!
Saturday was my birthday and hubby wanted to know what I wanted to do. A weekend getaway with him would be nice especially with the holidays ahead of us (we are hosting Thanksgiving this year,so it will be a little chaotic around here). I wanted to visit the Oregon coast but with the weather we have here in the Pacific NW, I don’t think we’ll like it this time of year. So we decided on San Diego because of the nice sunny fall they have there. We loved it there, I can’t believe the weather we had last weekend close to 80’s. So opposite from Seattle. Anyways, we did the tourist things like Seaworld, SD zoo, SD safari, Coronado Island, Mission Beach, Old Town. It was a great 4 days with my Hubs, exploring a new city and enjoying the warm weather and eating yummy food. My kind of Birthday Celebration. Thank you Lord for another year you gave me.
Apple Picking!
I’ve always wanted to experience Apple Picking for the last couple of years since I’ve been here in WA, but for whatever reason Zach and I didn’t do it. This year I was determined to do it as part of our “fall bucketlist” and we are so glad we did, because it was so much fun. It’s safe to say it’s going to be a fall tradition for us. Zach found a family owned farm in Sedro-Wooley WA (Jones Creek Farm) and their apples are organic too. We had to travel for almost 2 hours just to get there, but it was worth it. It wasn’t that bad and Riley was so good the whole time. We are so proud of him! He loves it whenever we bring him with us. He had so much fun at the farm, sniffing everything, running around and helping us pick our apples. We picked 20 pounds of Apples, and we already baked some (we just made Apple Pie Cake last night) and we are thinking of making apple sauce also, and will probably juice the rest of our harvest.
Washington State Fair!
Washington State Fair (formerly known as The Puyallup Fair) is the biggest fair and the busiest fair in the state. We always try to visit every year, and it’s always so much fun every time. We made it a family affair with my In-Laws. It’s always nice to do that kind of thing with them because they enjoy walking around the exhibits too. As usual, we ate too much fair food for the day! We watched some dog and horse shows (dogs were too cute, too bad Riley couldn’t join us). Until next year WSF!
Mothers Day 2013
We celebrated Mothers Day with my Mom In Law’s side of the family. We had hotdogs and grilled chicken/fruit kabobs(that I forgot to take pictures). Every mothers day we go to my husbands grandmother’s house. I love her yard, so spacious and lots of pretty flowers like Lilacs tree. She said if we want we can get as much as we can,so of course I asked the hubs to “pick” enough to bring home with us. He didn’t disappoint! The house looks like a florist shop right now but I love it..hehe..smells so good right now because of the lilacs. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there, especially to my Mom and MIL Kathy, both whom I admired and look up to.
Thanksgiving Weekend and Birthday Celebrations!
Today is my Husband’s birthday but we celebrated it yesterday evening together with his Parents and Sister. We prepared Paella and it turned out great. I was kinda nervous because this was our first time making this dish. I thought it was simple based on the blogs and recipes we’ve read but when it’s your first time to make something, I’ve found that it’s not always smooth sailing. I’m just so glad that it turned out well and my In laws enjoyed it. Hubs and I also watched two movies this weekend, Life of Pi and Skyfall. I really enjoyed them both. Tonight we’ll be going to Melting Pot to have a birthday dinner for my Hubs:)
