Today is a special day for our family because it’s Mia’s 5th birthday! She had lot’s of fun at her preschool and her teachers made a big deal of her day. The school discourages cakes/cupcakes so we didn’t bring any cake. We got her classmates goodie bags and we put a puzzle and cookies in them:) After we picked her up from school we had a late lunch at one of our favorite pizza places and let her pick a birthday toy from Target. We spent a lot of time at Target and she picked up a Turtle that poops!HA! She thinks anything “poop” related is very funny:)
We had Starbucks after for a special drink that she totally enjoyed! We love you Mia James:) Thank You Jesus for our Mia Boo:)
Thanks to our family and friends who greeted her, she loved all the attention!HA
She had her bday crown when we picked her up!
Her classmates made her paper balloons!
Lunch at our fave pizza place! It was empty because lunch rush hour was over.
Happy Birthday Mia! We love you
We will have a birthday cake this weekend for her because my In laws will be celebrating with us.
We did a big grocery shopping trip this weekend and stocked up on basic needs for our family. It was a little expensive for us but we did save a bit which is great for our budget! We are good with butter for the rest of the year. Hubs does all of the baking for our family and he will have enough for his holiday baking. There are empty shelves for sure in our local grocery store and prices are increasing from my observations.
I don’t eat cereal but hubs and the kids do (at least once a week). We found a good deal on that so Hubs got a couple that will probably last them the rest of the year. We don’t pay full price when it comes to sugary cereal because there’s always a sale on this and we get enough to last until the next sale.
Not bad!
Good Deal!
I have a good stockpile on my coffee for the rest of the year but I really wanted to try the Starbucks fall coffees for a while now. They’re just too pricey for me but they had a sale too so I decided to treat myself. I had it this morning and we (hubs and I) really liked it.
More for our pantry!
I didn’t take pictures of everything we bought but we had produce and milk too. My plan is to continue to build up my pantry/stockpile for what we use and need frugally.
“In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but the foolish devours all he has.”- Proverbs 21:20
Hi Friends! This weekend we visited Hubs Auntie and enjoyed a little fall get together. We love her place, it’s so cozy and fun. They did a big bonfire so we grilled hotdogs and smores for the kids! She had a pumpkin patch that we checked and got to bring 8 pumpkins with us. She had a nice variety of Dahlia flowers on her property so we got to bring some. This is the same place where we picked raspberries and blueberries a couple of months ago:) She has different vegetables planted too and I got to bring some (cabbages, tomatoes, swiss chard, peppers). Lots of fun memories made this weekend!
Hubs pulling a beet! We roasted this one and it was delicious:)
Hi Friends! September is Over, can you believe it? Time flies so fast. It’s been a busy week for us. Busy, because Mia goes to preschool 4 times a week, and I’m still getting use to the dropping and picking her up from school routine. It’s so fun to see her and her little friends together when she’s in school. She loves being with them, I’m personally enjoying her stories after school and how her day went. I miss her when she’s not with us, but the school sends us pictures of their activities. She is growing so fast!
Loving our neighborhood during this time!
school time!
driving to school!
I’m still decluttering and I vacuumed /shampooed our carpets this week. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and feels great that this is finally done! With the holidays coming, I’m glad this task is over.
Park time when it’s not raining outside!
Got to visit my Doctor for a follow up check up this week. See you next year Doc!HA! Tomorrow the kids will visit their dentist. That would be fun!NOT…
We mostly ate at home this month too. Hubs and I cooked:) He did butter chicken and it was good. He really loves getting butter chicken from a local restaurant and it was getting expensive so he wanted to try making it himself. The recipe was a winner!
With all the inflation news and stock limitations in the grocery stores, I’m planning to take my “stocking” seriously. Nothing crazy though, but I plan to buy extra things of what we need and use. I’m no prepper or hoarder but with young kids depending on us, it’s just smart to be prepared. I will make a lists of what I want to get in the coming weeks, and hopefully they won’t be out of stock. This is what I got this week to add to my pantry:)
One crazy thing that happened in our September was that somebody cut our catalytic converter out of Hub’s car. It’s in the auto shop right now and will cost us a whopping $2,500 to fix the whole mess! UGH! God help them..
It’s officially fall, I can see it everywhere here in our neighborhood! When driving Mia to her preschool, it’s so pretty because the leaves are changing colors already and the weather is cooling too. It’s been a tiring week here because Matthew had runny nose (thank God no fever/cough) and he’s back to his bouncy self now. He was suppose to have a hearing test yesterday but got cancelled due to that. Going to have to wait another 2 months to get him tested.
I’ve been doing lots of decluttering lately, so I have really no desire to decorate for fall, maybe have fresh flowers or plants and that’s it! I did get two decorative squashes to put on the mantle:)
Mia is really loving her preschool and it’s so special to watch her play and listen to her talk about her day at school. They do the pledge of allegiance everyday and she said “I cannot wait to lead the class mommy and hold the flag, I love America mommy”!
I did the grocery this week and lots of fun fall products out there! I didn’t buy any…
With the cold weather here, I made two soups already. Mung Bean soup with pork belly and kale! Hubs really like this.
Beef soup (Beef Nilaga in the Philippines). This is the kids fave:)
A little self pampering this week. This was a relaxing bath:)
Hello Friends! We just got back from our annual Ocean Shores vacation yesterday! We arrived Thursday afternoon and got back Sunday afternoon. I’m so tired!HA. Traveling and Packing when you have kids to consider can be a lot of work. This time I did keep things simple like their clothes (rental had a washer/dryer) and we didn’t pack a lot of snacks.
We had fun and lots of family time together with my In laws. The kids loved being at the ocean and playing in the sand, flying a kite and eating junky food like s’mores and ice cream! Hubs and DIL did puzzles together. The weather was great (only rained one time). I just love the smell of the ocean and feeling the breeze ! Till next time Ocean Shores:)
Mia loved seeing the deer so close to us!
He loves halibut:)
Ice cream time
We ordered Chinese food when we got home because we’re so tired and I missed eating rice since I didn’t bring my rice cooker this Ocean trip! I missed it so much.HA
Have a great Monday and stay safe friends! Take Care:)
Hello Friends! Happy Saturday:) This week was special for us because Matthew turned 2! Our little Miracle baby, whose growing so well….it’s hard to believe he was premature (born at 26 weeks/6 months) and stayed in the NICU for 3 months is all energy today! Thank You Jesus:) We had a simple day for him and we’ll have another celebration for him this labor day when family comes over.
He got magnatiles from his Auntie, and we spent time at the park (one of his fave thing to do) and got him Chick Fil A! Hubs made bananas foster for us with vanilla ice cream that we got for a birthday dessert! Happy Birthday MattieBoo 🙂
Mia also got to meet her teachers at her preschool this week. She’s so excited to start preschool and get to learn together with new friends. She already got to play with her classmates. I can’t believe she’s growing so fast. She will have so much fun and I’m really excited for her.
somebody wants to join the class! HA

Thank You Aery Till!
Birthday Treat
they love playing in the park!
Have a good night friends! Stay safe and take care!
Happy weekend Friends! Hubs and I had an impromptu date because my In laws offered to watch the kids for a couple of hours (what a nice surprise!) We decided to enjoy poke and Starbucks!I finally got my PSL! YUM:) We did a little grocery shopping at our asian market too! Got some fish and produce for this week.
We had fun yesterday with Hub’s friends! His friend from Idaho was in town and Hubs invited him for dinner and games after. Hubs prepared steaks and I helped with the side dishes. It was a great night with yummy food and company with friends. The kids love it when we have company in the house because we let them stay up late and they get to hangout with Daddy’s friends too!
Breakfast this weekend! We’ve been enjoying this almond danish from Costco!
Steak and brussels sprouts were a HIT! Roasted brussels sprout recipe from Ina Garten! So good:)
Park time with Papa!
Love a little lunch date with Hubs! It’s been a while since we’ve been out without the kids. Thanks to my In laws for the offer to watch the kids:)
Live King Crabs at the asian market!
Mia found a salamander in the yard when we got home! She wants to keep it as our pet!HA
Napping so hard after playing at the park!
Grilled fish for dinner! Leftovers for tomorrows dinner:)
Last but not least, it’s been a sad week for our country! We continue to pray for our brave marines and their families and the innocent civilians in Afghanistan. God be with them.
Have a goodnight friends! Going to get ready for bed here. Take care and stay safe:)
Hi friends! It’s been a cloudy day here and the weather feels like fall is fast approaching here (Starbucks have the PSL out yesterday). I will probably get one this weekend:) It’s been a sad day for our country after more than a dozen marines and US personnel died in Afghanistan today. I pray for our marines, their families, and innocent civilians that are suffering right now. God be with them. I’m grateful that this is not my final home and I have hope in Jesus. Despite the craziness today, I’m encouraged that God wins in the end!
I’m almost done with this homemaking book. I really enjoy reading about other homemakers and learning about their everyday life. Love her short stories and encouragement.
Hubs made caramels this week, so good!
My DIL found some fresh tuna at our local seafood market, Of course he got us some! I fried some and made a tuna sandwich. Growing up my family ate a lot of fried fish paired with soy/citrus/chili dipping sauce. YUM
Mia got lots of clothes from her grandparents this week. Thankful for a generous Nana and Papa! She modeled them for us!HA
I did a little konmari on my coffee/teas this week. I took everything and check all the expirations, listed what we need to be buying for our pantry (very low on chocolate drink/mix) so I will be looking out for sales in the coming weeks. I have enough for the rest of the year!
My starbucks was given by my Dad In law!
Mia got to facetime some of our relatives back in the Philippines! Thank You technology:)
With the cozy weather lately, we’ve been enjoying our naps!
Hi Friends! How’s your weekend? Mine was OK, got news from Philippines that my first cousin died unexpectedly (34 years old) gone too soon. Second death in my family this month of August. Thinking of my family back home during these sad times.
So we took things slow this weekend, I still have kids and hubs to take care of! I took the kids to the park, spent time in the garden and got some herbs to dry, and had Chic fil A to enjoy! I also got to read a book about homemaking and started a korean drama on netflix with Hubs.
Did some grocery shopping because Hubs just wanted to get out of the house and we didn’t have basic stuff like eggs and milk. So off we went to the grocery store. I’m going to organize my pantry this week and will do inventory of what we have, back to stockpiling again with the governor announcing his mask mandate.UGH! I have no desire to go to the grocery store for the rest of the month.
Mia and Daddy made slime tonight, she really loved it! So precious:)
Going to freeze the chives and rosemary to use this coming fall/winter.
Have a goodnight friends! Take care and talk soon:)
